Generally I abstain from politics here
Jun. 29th, 2011 11:19 pmthough its absence from these 'pages' completely misrepresents the complexion of my mental life. The cauldron of my indignation is constantly boiling over; every time I look at the news I sicken with disgust. There is just so much to rage about that I find it easier to remain altogether silent, for how can I choose one thing over another? and there are too many to try to cover them all. For this reason I will now also confine myself to some cryptic remarks.
The coverage of, or more precisely, the reaction to the strike - from quarters both official and unofficial - has been absolutely nauseating. Monstrous and shameless propaganda from the one side (so what else is new?); and new depths of ignorant gullibility plumbed by the other.
And what has been happening with Greece is simply madness. Words fail.
Shall I mention education, health, immigration, welfare, the banks, the bond markets, the EU and the IMF, etc., etc.?
Why bother?
